SUGAR GROVE, Ill. (Aug. 3, 2015) The opening round of the 113th Western Amateur got under way at 7 a.m. CDT Tuesday at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois.

Seventy-eight players were scheduled to tee off from Nos. 1 and 10 from 7-9 a.m. with 78 more set to go beginning at 12 p.m., also from both tees.

Tee Times & Pairings for Rounds 1 & 2

Defending champion Beau Hossler, 2013 champion Jordan Niebrugge and Big Ten Freshman of the Year Nick Hardy were one of the featured groups and teed off at 8 a.m.

Competition includes 18-hole stroke play rounds on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by a cut to the players with the low 44 scores and ties. Those who make the cut then play 36 holes of stroke play on Thursday, with the low 16 advancing to match play on Friday.

On Friday, two 18-hole matches narrow the field to four semifinalists. On Saturday, the remaining four players play in the morning semifinal matches, and the survivors face off in the final 18-hole championship match in the afternoon.

Admission is free to spectators.
