The successor of the wildly popular 308, the Ferrari 328 was so named for its increase in total cubic capacity of the engine (3.2 liters), as well as its eight cylinders. Otherwise, the 328 is similar to the 308 in terms of design. It went on to become one of the most commercially successful Ferraris, well-known for its durability, value, and aesthetically-pleasing looks. Production of the 328 went from 1985 to 1989, with only one major update in 1988.
This Ferrari is one of three 328s in the car museum, all from the last year of its production. It is a GTS—short for Gran Turismo Spyder, or a convertible with a targa top. It is a tribute to the great Enzo Ferrari, who passed away in 1988. The 1,338 328s that were produced in 1989 were the last designed by him, so they hold a special place in Ferrari history and in this car museum.
