Origin: Maranello, Italy
Engine: 12-Cylinder
Transmission: 5-Speed Manual

Named for the total engine displacement in deciliters and the town in Italy where it was produced, the 550 Maranello was the result of a Ferrari initiative to create a balance between vehicle performance, speed, and style without sacrificing driver and passenger comfort. It had a top speed of 199 mph and could go from 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds. Though it wasn’t intended for racing, some private teams developed the 550 Maranello for this purpose. It ran in many series from 1999 all the way until 2009.

The 550 Maranello is said to be the finest Gran Turismo (Italian for “grand tourer,” it is defined as a car that is designed for high speed and long-distance driving, due to a combination of performance and luxury attributes) available. With a little over 3,000 produced, this was a must-have for the car museum.
