The Northern Illinois University (NIU) Women’s Golf Team and Rich Harvest Farms, home of the Huskies, have come together to create an annual award in memory of the late Betty Ann Rich. The “Betty Ann Rich” award is named for Betty Ann whose intellect, personality and charitable spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her and helped shape what Rich Harvest Farms and the Kids Golf Foundation signify today.
University of Illinois wins Sugar Grove Regional
The 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships – Sugar Grove Regional was contested May 15-17 at Rich Harvest Farms, “Home of the Northern Illinois University Huskies”. After a cold and rainy weekend, the Fighting Illini from the University of Illinois prevailed and claimed the title of the 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships – Sugar Grove Regional Champions.
Rich Harvest Farms, “Home of the Northern Illinois University Huskies,” will be hosting the 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships – Sugar Grove Regional on May 15-17, 2014. The regional will be the second held at the course, which is consistently ranked in the Golf Digest’s list of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.
“Student-athletes playing at Rich Harvest Farms will be in for a great experience,” said Donnie Wagner, Associate Director with the NCAA. “We are expecting a highly competitive 2014 Division I Men’s Golf Championship and having an outstanding course like Rich Harvest Farms to play on adds to the overall championship experience for those participating.”
The regional will feature 75 student-athletes from the top universities in the country. The universities participating in the Sugar Grove Regional were announced live on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Monday, May 5th. The following teams will be traveling to Rich Harvest Farms next week:
At the conclusion of the Kia Classic in Carlsbad, CA, the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) announced the final field of 32 players who will represent the eight pre-qualified countries in the inaugural International Crown event to be held July 24-27 at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, MD. At the Kia Classic, the United States rallied to overtake South Korea on the final day of qualifying for the inaugural tournament. When the International Crown event was announced in late January, the U.S. team trailed South Korea in combined World Rolex Rankings 45-21.

On June 24, 2013, Champions Tour professionals and amateurs gathered at Rich Harvest Farms (Sugar Grove, Ill.) for the inaugural Chip Beck #59 Champion’s Tour Pro-Am in support of a wonderful cause. We were excited to welcome a spectacular field of 15 tour players who enjoyed their day, especially during the intimate question and answer discussion, where they shared their stories with the amateurs. This special and personal interaction allowed the message of the event to shine through, which was to celebrate the growth of the game and its power to help us succeed in all areas of life and ultimately give back to the next generation of golf – the youth.
WILMINGTON, Del. – Rich Harvest Farms and Atlanta Athletic Club will host the the 2015 and 2017 Palmer Cups, respectively, announced Palmer Cup Chairman Jim Awtrey and Mr. Arnold Palmer June 6 at the opening ceremony of the Palmer Cup.
“The Palmer Cup continues to be played at great venues,” said Mr. Palmer. “I’m aware of the great success of the Solheim Cup recently played at Rich Harvest Farms and the most recent Ryder Cup Captain’s Challenge. I am pleased and grateful that Jerry Rich has agreed to host the event there. It should be another great Palmer Cup. Atlanta Athletic Club will be a wonderful setting for our 20th anniversary of the Palmer Cup. It certainly has proved in the past what great championships can be staged there. I’ve had the opportunity to play Atlanta AC numerous times and have always enjoyed the course. I’m sure it will be a great tournament on a great golf course.”

Rich Harvest Farms, the “Home of the Huskies,” will be the site of a NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Regional hosted by Northern Illinois University from May 15-17, 2014, the NCAA announced Thursday. The NCAA Regional will be the second held at the course, which was rated No. 58 on Golf Digest’s list of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses for 2011-12.
Northern Illinois previously played host to the 2007 NCAA Central Regional at Rich Harvest Farms, and the course was the site of the 2003 and 2012 Mid-American Conference Men’s Golf Championships, and annually hosts NIU’s Northern Intercollegiate tournament. Rich Harvest Farms gained international renown in 2009 when it hosted the LPGA Solheim Cup, a team competition between the top 12 LPGA members from the United States and Europe. The event attracted over 120,000 spectators, making it the most-attended event in the history of the LPGA.
