NIU Men’s Golfer Joo-Young Lee Wins Ohio Amateur Championship

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – NIU men’s golfer Joo-Young Lee (Hillard, Ohio/Hillard) won the Ohio Amateur Championship Friday afternoon at Zanesville Country Club in Zanesville, Ohio.

Lee joins a list of Ohio Amateur Champions that includes seven time major champion and PGA legend Arnold Palmer (1953, 1954), 2003 British Open Champion Ben Curtis (1999, 2000), as well as 1933 Open Champion Denny Shute (1927).

Team USA wins the 2015 Palmer Cup at Rich Harvest Farms

SUGAR GROVE, Ill. –Despite Europe winning five matches on Sunday, the United States reclaimed the Palmer Cup at Rich Harvest Farms defeating Europe 18-12. The United States leads the all-time Palmer Cup series, 10-8-1.

Going into Sunday, the Americans needed just 2 points to win the Palmer Cup. Europe’s Clement Sordet earned and kept a lead early. After a birdie on 11 and par on 13, Sordet went 3 up and would go on to take the match 2 and 1, keeping Europe’s hopes alive for a short time.

First Palmer Cup Player Announced

NORMAN, Oklahoma – After winning the annual R&A Foundation Scholars Tournament at St Andrews Golf Club Tuesday, 23-year-old Mathias Eggenberger of Austria has earned an spot on the European Team for the 2015 Palmer Cup. NORMAN, Okla. – The the April 2nd edition of the 2015 Palmer Cup Ranking was released today. The top six golfers from the  final ranking in the Spring from both the United States and Europe shall be among the 10 individuals selected to compete in the Palmer Cup at Rich Harvest Farms June 12-14. The United States and European Palmer Cup teams will be announced April 17.

NORMAN, Okla. – The first spring edition of the 2015 Palmer Cup Ranking was released Thursday by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The top six golfers from the final ranking in April from both the United States and Europe will be among the 20 collegiate golfers select­ed to compete in the Palmer Cup at Rich Harvest Farms June 12-14.  Those 20 players will be announced by the GCAA mid-April.

Northern Illinois University to Host the 2017 NCAA Division I Golf Championships at Rich Harvest Farms

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Golf Committees announced today that Northern Illinois University (NIU) and Rich Harvest Farms, home of the NIU men’s and women’s golf programs, have been selected to host the 2017 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships.

This marks the first time NIU will host a NCAA Championship in any sport since becoming a major college program in 1969. The women’s championship will be held May 18-24, 2017, followed by the men’s finals May 25-31. Rich Harvest Farms, located in Sugar Grove, IL, is consistently one of Golf Digest Magazine’s America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses. Additionally, Rich Harvest Farms also been awarded the 2015 Palmer Cup, the 2015 Western Amateur, and the LPGA’s 2016 UL International Crown, a global team match-play event.

Heppler; Van de Velde to Coach 2015 Palmer Cup Teams at Rich Harvest Farms

The Golf Coaches Association of America has announced Former Ryder Cup player Jean Van de Velde and Bruce Heppler as coaches of the European and United States Palmer Cup teams, respectively, at Rich Harvest Farms. The annual Ryder Cup-style competition will be played June 12-14. The event is open to the public, free of charge.  Parking on property will also be free to the public.
